Reading in Levels

Reading in Levels:


Level 1: Scouting.  Thumb through the chapter.  Make yourself an outline including ONLY the following items: Chapter title, Headings and subheadings. Copy chapter summary at the back of the chapter.


Level 2: Recon.  Gather vocabulary, People, places and events.  No descriptions. Put each vocabulary word, person, place and event in the section it was found in.  


Level 3: Intel: provide definitions for vocabulary, and BRIEF descriptions for people, places and events.

Level 4: Analysis: Read the first heading. Stop. write YOUR OWN 2-3 sentences summary of that section.  Repeat process for all headings and subheadings.
